Merry Christmas

May we take this opportunity to wish you all a very merry Christmas! We have had a fantastic term with the new Reception class settling in very well and everyone trying hard to do their best. Year 6 had a wonderful trip to Min-Y-Don and the children have enjoyed their learning and topics. We hope that the children have a magical time and that they get a good rest ready for an exciting Spring term. There are lots of things to look forward to with Y4 off to Tattenhall for their residential and Year 2 going to Beeston. There is also a ‘Headteacher’s Writing Competition’ to look forward to in January. Have a lovely Christmas and best wishes for the New Year.

Please remember that school closes early at 2pm on Friday and opens again at 8.55am on Tuesday 9th January 2018. Monday 8th January is a staff training day which will focus on writing and looking at how we can support all children in making progress in writing and help them achieve the levels expected for their age.

Don’t forget ‘Carols around the Tree’ on Friday at 1.15pm. Everyone is welcome to join us for what has become a lovely way to end the term. Thank you to all parents and grandparents for your support over the term. It is through working so closely together that so many of our pupils achieve so well.

Christmas Pantomime

Everyone is looking forward to an exciting trip to the Brindley in Runcorn to see the production of ‘Sleeping Beauty’ tomorrow morning. We are leaving school after morning registration and will return at approximately 1pm, when the children will have lunch. A reminder to please provide your child with a snack and a drink (disposable items).

Christmas Productions

Well done to KS1 for a terrific Christmas production last week! Good luck to KS2 with ‘Aladdin’ this week! Thank you so much for your help with costumes, learning lines and for supporting the performances. The money raised from ticket sales has provided all the children with an end of term treat and the remainder will be divided between our four nominated charities for this year:- ‘Medcare’, ‘Will to Work’, ‘Kidney Research UK’ and ‘Save the Family’.

School Choir

Well done to the school choir who sang at St Paul’s Church on Sunday evening. Good luck when you sing at Sainsbury’s Cheshire Oaks today!

School Lunch accounts

A reminder to please ensure your child’s lunch account is in credit. Any arrears must be cleared before the end of term. Thanks.
