Weekly Newsletter

16th July 2018

Thank you

Thank you to all parents and carers and grandparents who have supported the children this year.  All pupils have made progress this year with most pupils making very good progress and achieving their best.  It is the strong relationship that we have between home and school that enables our children to achieve so well.  We hope that you have found the annual school report informative and that it provided you with a good overview of the last year.  If you have any questions or queries, please ask Mr Richardson or check with your child’s classteacher.

Leaver’s assembly

Year 6 are very much looking forward to sharing their leavers’ assembly with parents and family on Thursday at 9.30am.  We hope that it goes well!

End of term arrangements

All parents, family and friends are welcome to attend our last assembly of the year at 1.15pm on Friday before school closes at 2pm for the summer holiday. We hope that everyone enjoys a great summer and look forward to welcoming everyone back on Tuesday 4th September.

Lunch accounts

Please ensure payment on your child’s lunch account is up to date by the end of term. Any outstanding debt must be cleared by this Friday, 20th July. Thank you.

GDPR request for consent

A reminder to please return the new ‘request for consent’ form in relation to use of your child’s image in school. If we do not receive it, we cannot assume you agree and therefore your child may miss out. Please contact the office if you need another copy.

Marie Curie

Charlie Donnelly a Year 5 pupil completed his challenge of walking up and down Snowdon on Saturday 14th July.  So far he has raised an amazing £500 for Marie Curie!  His just giving page will remain opening for another couple of weeks but if you wish to donate in school there is a collection box in the school office.  Charlie would like to thank the pupils and parents of Hillside for their donations.

Summer Activities

Radiate Arts CIC who run the art jam after school club are producing free digital animation workshops in libraries throughout the summer holidays including Helsby and Frodsham, to support the Summer Reading Challenge.  You will need to visit the library to register your children. SUMMER FAIR PROFIT

We are SO excited to announce that this year’s summer fair raised an overwhelming profit of £2,292.64p! (excluding match funding and with a sponsorship of £50 to hopefully still arrive) compared to £2,037.90p last year. We didn’t sell any calendars or tea towels this year either, so this is a phenomenal PROFIT!  We have truly smashed it this year, well done Hillside! - thank you to everyone for all of your hard work, contributions and to everyone who came. We simply could not have achieved this without TEAMWORK!
