Y2 Beeston residential

Well done to all our Y2 pupils who had a marvellous two days in the forest at Beeston Outdoor Education Centre. Their manners were impeccable and were commented on by the centre staff. They enjoyed Bunbury Mill, den building and the camp fire. Well done everyone and thanks to Miss Jagota, Mrs Williams and Ms Hughes for accompanying them.

School Council London trip

Another well done! This time to the school council who had a terrific day in London on Friday. They visited the Houses of Parliament and some of central London’s sights. They were also very well behaved and are now set to plan an assembly on parliament to the rest of the school. Thanks to Mr Khan, Mrs Potts, Mrs Jackson and Mr Greenwood for accompanying them.

Image Musical Theatre

Image Musical Theatre are visiting Hillside again on Wednesday 28th March with their production of ‘Robin Hood’. They always put on a terrific show and we hope that all the children enjoy participating in this exciting interactive event! This production is being paid for by FOH. Many thanks to them for funding this.

Sports Update

This Friday sees the cross country runners travel to Delamere Forest for this year’s FAVSP cross country competition. Good luck to everyone taking part! The cross country squad are also running in the last of this year’s WCAC races at the Ellesmere Port Sports Village on Saturday! Good luck in that event too!

Women’s basketball trophy final

We have been given some vouchers that can be exchanged for a free ticket to the women’s basketball trophy final at Cheshire Oaks Arena on Saturday 14th April. If any Hillside families would like some of these ticket vouchers, please see Mrs Potts – they will be available on a first come first served basis.

Non-uniform day

Just a quick reminder that there is a non-uniform day on Thursday 29th March for Autism awareness week.

Easter holidays

Please remember that we break up for the Easter holidays on Thursday 29th March at 2pm after the Easter celebration assembly at 1.15pm. School re-opens on Monday 16th April at 8.55am.

Internet safety

We have been made aware of some issues with a You Tube Channel called ‘Jeffy’s You Tube channel’ which features ‘Sesame Street’ style puppets. It includes inappropriate content for primary aged children including bad language, degrading behaviour and abuse of animals/ people with disabilities. Please make sure that your child(ren) are not able to access this material.

Thank you to everyone who has emailed us, spoke with us or sent us a message on Facebook recently. We really do value your feedback/ideas/support. Keep them coming! When you’re a Parent at Hillside, you’re automatically a member of FOH so it’s really nice to hear from new Parents.

To summarise, FOH organise gifts/events for Children and their families to enjoy. We do this in the hope to raise much needed funds for our School. FOH have funded the trim trail, transport for the Pantomime, KS2 Outdoor Classroom and our most recent achievement, donated to improve KS1 Playground! All Children and our School really do benefit from FOH.

We know it’s been a quiet year this year, with having to cancel some gifts but up to now, our events have still taken place. So far, we’ve had an amazing Christmas Fair, brilliant Disco’s and we have our much loved BINGO taking place this FRIDAY! Our Summer Fair is scheduled for Friday 29th June but this will be discussed at our meeting tonight.

We do hope to see you TONIGHT at our FOH meeting in the White Lion at 7pm.

If you would like to ‘subscribe’ to our emails, please email us to let us know. You will receive emails such as agenda’s and the minutes from the meeting.
