Harvest Week

We hope that the children enjoy their Harvest Breakfasts this week. You are most welcome to join us for our Harvest Festival at St Paul’s church at 2pm on Wednesday. On this day, items of tinned or dried food can be sent in to school, which will be donated to a local food bank. Thank you.

Year 6

Well done to Year 6 who enjoyed a terrific week at Min-y-don last week. They behaved brilliantly and were a credit to their parents and to school.

Sports News

Y5 orienteering – well done to the six Y5 pupils who participated in the FAVSP orienteering event last week.

Y6 Tag Rugby – good luck to the sixteen Y5 pupils playing tag rugby at Helsby rugby club on Thursday!

Nominated charities

In the past we have decided on one or two nominated charities each year to support as a school community, usually one ‘national’ and one ‘local’. If there is a charity that is of particular significance or importance to you or your family and that you think would be a worthwhile charity for us to support, please email with your suggestions. We have mentioned this to the children in assembly today and will announce our decision next week. Thank you.

Parent’s café

Parents (new and old!!) are welcome for a cup of coffee, biscuits and a chat on Thursday 26th October after ‘drop-off’. This will be a chance to speak to other parents, chat to members of FOH and enjoy a cuppa. We do hope that you are able to attend.

Get Active!

This week, all staff are undergoing training in a ‘Get Active’ PE programme run by ‘Sports for Schools’. It is being funded by Leeds Beckett University and will culminate in a ‘Get Active’ day for the whole school on Friday 17th November – further details to follow.

New staff member

We are pleased to announce that Mrs Jane Beech started last week as a Midday Assistant, a welcome addition to the team.
