Sports Days

Thank you so much for your support at our sports days last week. It was lovely to see so many parents there and this makes it special for the children. It was a shame about changing KS2 but we made what we thought was the best decision at the time. Apologies to those of you who couldn’t make it. We certainly have some talented athletes and everyone tried hard. We have received some very positive feedback about both events – if you have any comments, please let school know. Thank you.

Good luck to those athletes in KS2 competing at the district sports this Tuesday 26th June at Kingsley Community Primary School.

Race for Life

We ran our ‘Race for Life’ today at 11am. All pupils ran 5km in relays with some members of the cross country club running the full 5km. Well done everyone! All money raised will be sent to Cancer Research UK.

Cinema Night

Thank you so much to everyone for your support with our cinema night. The evening went very well and the children all seemed to enjoy the film and extra time to socialise and play with their friends. We are very sorry that some children were unable to come but we had to close the event as staffing arrangements and food had already been finalised. Any feedback about the event would be appreciated, please let Mr Richardson or the office staff know or email . We raised a total of £545 which will go towards a new set of ipads in school. FOH have also kindly contributed £3,000. This means we can replace the original set of ipads which are now around six years old and enables us to provide the best IT provision we can for all our children.

Photograph orders

The deadline for returning class photograph orders is this Friday, 29th June.

Parent Survey

A letter is being sent out today summarising the results of our parent survey. We always take your feedback and suggestions seriously and are trying hard to improve the service we offer. We hope that you find the information useful – please ask in school if you have any questions or queries.

Sports Update

Well done to the Y4 tennis players who played in the area finals at UCEA last week! They won the tournament and have now qualified for the Cheshire Finals in Macclesfield in July.

Well done too to the Y3/4 golfers who competed in the FAVSP tournament at Helsby Golf Club last week. They played very well and won silver medals!

Year 6 ‘£1 grow’

This Tuesday (26th) and Thursday (28th) Year 6 will be running the £1 grow afternoons. As usual, money raised by Year 6 will be used to buy a gift/legacy for the school with the remaining money being donated to a charity of Year 6 choice. May we suggest that pupils bring a small amount of change to school to support this event. Details of the total amount raised, the legacy gift, and their chosen charity will follow. Thank you for your support with this annual event which is always popular with all pupils.

Well done to the band and choir members who played at the Cheshire Show last week. We received some excellent comments about their performance and conduct! Thank you to Mrs Fletcher-Curran for organising the trip and to all the helpers!

Summer Fair

We hope that you can all come and enjoy our Summer Fair on Friday evening! The Fair opens at 6pm and everyone is welcome!

Friday 29th June - Summer Fair & Non Uniform Day

Saturday 28th July - Summer Camp on School Field. A letter will go out after Summer Fair.

Non Uniform Day

Our last non uniform day is this Friday, in exchange for all classes to send in a prize for the bottle/children’s toy stalls. KS1 to bring in a toy per age group assigned to their class and KS2 to bring in a bottle of something alcoholic. Please see our earlier post on our Facebook page for more details. Thank you so much!

Summer Fair - *4 Sleeps to go!*

This year we have two NEW stalls at our fair. One is for children to ‘plant a seed and watch it grow’ and the other is a ‘golden bucket’! The bucket works like this, you pay £1 for a ticket with the chance to win £20 on the night. The Winner will be announced at time of raffle and Auction; so look out for the golden bucket and don’t miss out.

We also welcome our very own year 5 pupil who will be selling homemade SLIME so please make sure you visit his stall and give him a nice welcome for doing such a lovely thing for us.

We will have our popular games such as coconut shy, and golf etc. There will be a BBQ, external stalls including Beer Hero’s, Mr Tee and Bouncy Castle. We have Mr Richardson in the Stocks from 6-7pm and Mr Khan will be in the Stocks 7-8pm - so let’s get throwing those sponges!

THANK YOU to everyone for responding to our requests via Facebook and letters. We received so many sweet jars last Friday, we truly value your support! Thank you for making this year’s summer event a team effort.

The weather is forecasting lots of SUN this Friday so come and have a few beers (or Pimms) a burger and relax amongst friends! See you Friday!

Please don’t forget to buy tokens at the entrance - thank you!

If you have kindly offered to donate cakes for our cake stall, please don’t forget to bring them in on the day of the fair. You can drop them off in the morning or in the afternoon. Thank you again for your support.

If you’re free from 3pm onwards on the day of the fair, we would really appreciate your help to set up the fair. We have many helpers in the morning but not many for the afternoon and to help clear away. If you can help on the day, please meet up at the office. Thank you!

Thanks to your donations of unwanted clothes, we raised £85.50p on our last collection in May. This is amazing news and together, this year alone, we have raised £268.50p just from two collections, thank you so much everyone.

We hope you have a wonderful time at the Summer Fair! Have a good week and enjoy the sun! Thanks ever so much for your support!
