WELLBEING 2024 - 2025
Miss Hughes
WELCOME TO OUR WELLBEING
PAGE
At Helsby Hillside we are aware of the importance of emotional wellbeing for all students and staff. We consider wellbeing to be central to positive learning outcomes and a healthy and happy school experience. Therefore, we attempt to embed emotional and behavioural wellbeing and positive relationships throughout school life. We take the view that positive mental health is everybody’s business and that we all have a role to play.
At Hillside we will.............
- Help children to understand their emotions and feelings better.
- Help children feel comfortable sharing any concerns or worries.
- Help children socially to form and maintain relationships.
- Promote self esteem and ensure children know that they count.
- Encourage children to be confident and ‘dare to be different’.
- Help children to develop emotional resilience and to manage set backs.
- On this page I hope you find lots of information, links, websites and files to browse to help you and your children with your wellbeing.
At Hillside we use "My Happy Mind" this is an amazing resource which is science based with the latest research.
The programme aims to give children the skills to thrive in tomorrow`s world. Giving and helping children with preventative strategies, skills and tools they may need to thrive in the modern world.
The "My Happy Mind" app can be downloaded for free which will help with "Happy Breathing"

REMEMBER:
It is good to talk. All feelings are ok. Feeling worried or angry are normal feelings in our everday life.
But if those feelings are making you sad or you are feeling them alot of the time or they just feel too big you may need some extra help.
The best thing to do is speak to someone you trust. This might be your Mum,Dad,Carer,Teacher,Grandparents or an adult you trust. They will be able to find the right person to help.
