End of term

Please remember that school closes this Friday 29th March at 2pm for two weeks for our ‘Spring break’.  School reopens on Monday 15th April at 8.55am.  (please note that school will be closed for the Easter bank holiday weekend on Friday 19th April and Monday 22nd April).  We will be holding an Easter assembly at 2pm on Thursday 18th April.

Running track – grand opening

We are formally opening our new running track this Thursday 28th March at 9.30am.  parents are invited to attend and walk the track.  We are really pleased with the track and improvements to the area in Year 1.  We will use the track for cross country practice, PE and for our ‘Daily Mile’ activities.

Residential Visits

We were very proud of our Y2 class who enjoyed a terrific couple of days at the Beeston Outdoor Centre.  The children displayed excellent manners and tried hard with all their exciting activities which included an owl display by Shropshire Falconry, den building and a campfire!

We hope that Y4 have a terrific time in Tattenhall this week!  They have lots to look forward to including a day with an artist, zip wire and archery!

KS2 Lunch Accounts

A polite request to ensure payment has been made for any lunches your child has already taken or will be having this week. All lunches MUST be paid for in advance and any arrears cleared by the end of term.

Thank you

Thanks very much to all our parents and grandparents for your support over this term.  It is only through working closely together that we can help our pupils progress and achieve well.  Your support with reading and homework in particular is vital – well done everyone!

Sports update

Well done to the cross country squad who ran in the Delamere Forest races last Friday!

Music for Life

Music for Life is a not-for-profit music service working in partnership with schools which currently arranges lessons for more than 4,000 young people across our area. There are opportunities for pupils to have a 10 week course before the summer holidays if they would like to try lessons out in school. The deadline for booking a new course to start after the Spring holiday is 31st March. (Please note that bookings are subject to a final confirmation from the tutor and from school that the extra course can be accommodated but more than 99% of people who request lessons will get a place.) You can find out much more and book online here: www.musicforlife.org.uk/apply-now.

Payment for courses can be made using almost any debit or credit card and can be spread over several months or paid in full in advance on booking if you wish. Financial support with the cost of lessons may be available in cases of hardship; please contact Music for Life before booking if you would like to discuss this.

After the 10 week course, a report on progress will be sent to you and you can then decide whether or not to book continued lessons in September, or whether to change the course.
