Christmas preparations

We are pleased to report that preparations for the Christmas productions have started!  Key stage 1 and Reception pupils have received their costumes and lines are being learned.  Thank you to parents for your help with encouragement, learning lines and any help with costumes.  The children are excited and looking forward to performing for you. Ticket details will be available soon.

If you have any children’s black wizard cloaks you could lend us just for the last couple of weeks of term, please let us know.

A reminder to please make payment on ParentPay for the panto visit on Monday 16th December. Please contact Mr Richardson or the school office asap if you have any issues regarding payment.

Y4 Parent workshop

Mrs Boudier is leading a workshop for Y4 parents on Tuesday 26th November at 2pm.  The workshop will focus on supporting your child in reading and comprehension skills and also look at the importance of learning the basics in maths – especially times tables-ahead of next year’s national multiplication check in Year 4.

School Photo orders

A reminder that this Friday, 29th November is the deadline to send photo orders into school, please send in no later than 9am as collection is due during the day. After this, you will need to order direct with the photography company.

Global Waste and Climate Change Demonstration

This Friday, 29th November the whole school is supporting the international climate change ‘strike’ as part of our ‘Global Waste and Zero Plastic’ campaign.  We are walking from school into Helsby at 9.30am straight after the ‘Celebration Assembly’.  Any parents who would like to join us would be most welcome.  Local candidates for the upcoming election are walking with us.  The children will be singing ‘Earth Song’ and asking the candidates questions during the morning.  Our drive to reduce the use of single plastic is definitely impacting our local community.

Leaflets designed by school pupils are being distributed to all homes in Helsby over the coming weeks.  We need help to deliver them, if you can help please reply to this message/contact the school office with your details.

Any questions about our ‘Zero Plastic’ project or any more information – please ask Mr Richardson or Mrs Fletcher-Curran.  Thank you.

Poppy Appeal

We raised £253.60 for the The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal, many thanks for your kind donations.

Sports update

Y2 multi skills – Last Thursday the Year 2 class participated in the FAVSP multi skills tournament at Frodsham Leisure Centre.  They enjoyed taking part in balance, agility and speed skills.  They gave 100% to every activity and were a credit to the school.  Well done Year 2!

Y5/6 football at Liverpool FC – this Wednesday sees the Y5/6 football team play in the Liverpool FC tournament.  We wish the team good luck and hope they enjoy their day!
