Join your child for lunch day

A final reminder for any KS2 parents who wish to join their child for lunch this Wednesday 7th March. Please book and pay on ParentPay by the end of today. Can parents please arrive at school for 12.15pm.

World Book Day

As usual, we will be celebrating World Book Day this week.  The children will all receive a £1 book token to spend on a special book.  A reminder that the children are invited to dress up as a favourite book character if they wish.  Please can they bring in a favourite book to talk about in class and share with their friends.   Parents can go into Helsby library on Saturday 9th March (9.30am – 1pm) where their children can spend their token and pick up a free book.

Non-uniform day

Please note that we are holding a non-uniform day this Friday 8th March.  The children can come in their own clothes and in return, they must bring a prize for the Easter bingo (see separate FOH letter).

Parking considerately

We have received several complaints from a neighbour on Bates Lane regarding cars blocking a driveway repeatedly at drop off and pick up times.  Please remember to park considerately and don’t block people’s drives.  Our ‘Park and Stride’ scheme has worked very well in the past – park at St Paul’s church car park and then walk through the church yard to school.  It only takes five minutes and helps relieve the traffic around school.  Thank you.

Pupil illness

We know that when your child is ill it’s important to take steps to make sure they’re well enough to be at school, but also that they’re not at risk of spreading any infection or illness. We know that the guidelines are complicated and it’s not easy to find out when your child can return to school or even if they need to be kept away. Please see attached easy to view NHS guidance about if and how long your child should be off school for a variety of common childhood illnesses. This information is also available to view on the school website, in the Parents menu under Illness and absence in term time.

Year 3 parent workshops

Please note that the parent reading workshop scheduled for Tuesday 26th March will now be held on Monday 25th March.  Same time – 2pm.  Apologies for any inconvenience.
