School Council

We hope the school council enjoy their trip to London on Thursday.  We are looking forward to hearing all about this visit to the Houses of Parliament and what activities they plan to lead on their return.

Safe driving around school

Thank you to parents for your safe and considerate driving around school.  We have noticed a number of parents driving ‘the wrong way’ down Bates Lane and not adhering to our voluntary ‘one-way’ system (entering into Bates Lane and exiting onto the main road via the Old Chester Road). Please do try and follow this as it really does help with traffic flow and ease congestion.  Thank you.

Parent progress evenings

An early reminder!  Please don’t forget parent progress evenings week beginning 4th February.  Booking details will be sent out soon.  Interim reports will be sent out on Monday 4th February which will tell you what level your child is currently working at in the core subjects at the expected level for their age, below the level expected or at a greater depth of understanding (ie above the expected level).  It will also include effort grades and a personal comment from the teacher.  This will then form the basis of your conversation with your child’s classteacher at the parent progress evening.  Thank you.

Extra-curricular school clubs

Information for booking on before/after school clubs will be sent out soon. All clubs and activities will start week beginning 21st January, with the exception of Art Jam and Drama Clubs which start next week, beginning 14th January, booking to be made direct with the external provider online, details attached.

School meals

There will be a special ‘Travel with us’ themed lunch on Thursday 17th January. Choices will be Spaghetti Bolognese with garlic bread, vegetarian option or jacket potato and iced chocolate sponge or fresh fruit. Meals to be ordered on the day as usual.

KS2 Parents - Please check your child’s account on ParentPay and if meals are owing please ensure the arrears are cleared immediately. Please contact the office if you have any issues with payment.

Poppy Appeal

Thanks to your kind donations we collected a total sum of £177.96 for The Royal British Legion.

Parent Governor Election

We have received two nominations for the one available place on the governing body and therefore there will need to be an election. Ballot papers and details about the candidates are being sent home today, one per parent. Please return to school in the numbered envelope provided, no later than 3pm on Monday 14th January.

Data Collection – SIMS Parent App

If you haven’t done so already, please download the new SIMS Parent App so you can review the information we hold on our school system to ensure it is up to date. Please contact the office if you’d like us to resend the email invitation, are having any problems accessing the app or would prefer a paper data collection sheet to review.

A reminder that the deadline for applying for a Reception place for children starting school in September 2019 is Friday 15th January. For further details please visit
