100 mile challenge

We hope that the 100 mile challenge is going well and that the children have been using their pedometers to record all the miles they are doing.  A text will be coming out this week asking for a record of mileage completed so far.  We will also be finding out who has completed the most miles so far and there will be a prize for this.  Don’t forget that you can get a discount off New Balance products using the discount code      NB100mile20.  Thank you for your support.

Data Collection and Lateness

Please return your data collection sheets as soon as possible for the office to update any amendments.  Thank you.  If your child is arriving after 9am to school please accompany them to the office to sign them in school with the reason they are late.  Thank you.

Christmas Production – tickets

A letter with details of how to purchase tickets for this year’s performances has been sent out today.  Please get your responses back quickly as the tickets will be very popular.  Proceeds will be split between school fund and Cancer Research UK.  The children have started rehearsals and we are all very much looking forward to performing the productions for you.

FOH

We hope you are all looking forward to our Christmas Fair on Friday!  FOH funds make a massive difference to school and this year we want to buy more books and i-pads.  We are also looking to book some exciting special days for our pupils (after feedback from parents) and are also looking at providing some more lockers for KS2 pupils.  Thanks again for all your support!

Christmas

This week Y2 go on the annual ‘Christmas Journey’ to Main Street Church in Frodsham and the choir visit Springfield’s to sing to the Greenwood Club on Thursday.  On 11th December they are singing at Loxley Hall.  They are singing at Tesco on Thursday 18th December at 10am where they will be joined by the school band.

Don’t forget it’s our Christmas lunch on Wednesday 10th December.

We are off to the panto on Thursday 16th December and school closes for the Christmas holidays at 2pm on Friday 19th December.  Everyone is warmly invited to join us for our annual ‘Carols Around the Tree’ at 1.15pm on the last day.

Parking

A reminder to everyone to please park safely and considerately.  Do not park on the yellow zig zags at any time and do not block our neighbours’ drives.  Thank you.

IT’S CHRISTMAS FAIR WEEK!!

Many thanks for all the sweetie jars last Friday, we are on the way to a well-stocked fair.

Be ready to buy raffle tickets – we have had a phenomenal amount of support from the local community this year, and have a raffle to be proud of! Prizes include vouchers for treatments at Lusso and Serenity, meals at The White Lion and Sher Kahn, tea/coffee and cake at The Old Bank Tearooms and Frodsham Coffee shop, and many more!

We will also be running an AUCTION on the night – the following prizes will be auctioned to the highest bidder:

Fayre and Square, Wheatsheaf’s ‘Wacky Warehouse’ (Dunham): A children’s party for up to 20 children!
Vouchers for a meal for up to 4 people at the Wheatsheaf in Dunham.
Subway in Frodsham: The winner’s height in sandwiches! (ie a 5ft person will win 5 x footlong sandwiches).

Remember we are doing all of this to raise funds for our children’s school – FOH puts money towards all sorts of initiatives and projects throughout the school year, from buying ipads, to subsidising the annual panto trip. All donations you make at the fair will go towards improving and enhancing the experience of all our children at Hillside.

With that in mind, we look forward to seeing you all at the fair on FRIDAY 5TH DECEMBER, 6-8PM, for what we know will be an exciting and fun-filled night!

We had a self-imposed target to make £30 using this cashback website and I’m pleased to report we have done it with time to spare! Well done to all who have registered with the site, and if you still have Christmas shopping to do, please consider using this as a means to help us raise funds – it’s completely free!
