Healthy snack

Please can we remind parents about our healthy snack policy at morning break time.  KS2 pupils have the choice of purchasing some toast or bagel (or similar) from the school kitchen or bringing their own snack.  Children can bring some fruit or a healthy cereal bar.  They may not bring crisps, chocolate or sweets.  We have introduced ‘Fruit Thursdays’ in the school kitchen where children can purchase fruit rather than the bagel/toast option.  If this popular, we will consider extending this to two days.  Any feedback from parents would be most helpful on this – either email the office or let Mr Richardson know.  Reception and KS1 pupils still have a piece of fruit or vegetables provided for free every morning break time.

Please also ensure your child’s lunch accounts are kept in credit and any arrears are cleared asap.

Thanks very much for your support with Children in Need on Friday.  It was lovely to see the children dressing up and keen to help children less fortunate than themselves.  We raised an amazing total of £216.35 for Children in Need.

We’re so excited for this year’s Christmas Fayre on Friday 29 November and can’t wait to see you and the children there.

Do you have any Christmas jumpers the children have grown out of? We’re running a Christmas jumper stall this year and any donations would be gratefully received. Please hand in to reception or to a PTA member and hold off buying a new one until you've visited our stall!

Do you have any unwanted gifts for our secret santa stall? The children love our secret santa stall. It’s an opportunity for them to choose a gift for their parent or loved one and secretly wrap it up to give on Christmas Day. If you have any unwanted gifts at home, please pass them on so the children have lots to choose from. We’re particularly in need of suitable gifts for men! Please hand to reception or a PTA member.

Are you employed by one of these companies? Match fundraising from your employer could help raise funds towards our 2019/2020 target. Speak to your employer or contact us to find out more.

Thank you so much for your continued support  these events aren’t possible without you.

You’re invited to the Friends of Hillside meeting tonight  It’s the next PTA meeting tonight from 19:00 until 20:00 in the staff room. All are welcome as we finalise our plans for the Christmas Fayre. With so much to discuss we’re expecting it to run on, so those who can stay are welcome to pop along to The Railway to finish the meeting.
