Newsletter 21st July

What a fantastic year Friends of Hillside have had! With a wonderful summer fair and a range of events including the ever popular discos, the new committee and helpers have done an incredible job! Well done to everyone and thank you to everyone for all your help!

Tin Forest

Thank you so much for your support on Friday at the Tin Forest exhibition. We have received some fantastic feedback. It really was a celebration of the hard work of children and staff and the result of a terrific team effort. We were very proud of the forest and are sure it will live long in the memories. There may be an opportunity to purchase larger sculptures and 3-D materials details to follow.

Pants Hats

Emi Howe, parent of Oscar Walton in our Y1 class, is re-launching her book ‘Pants Hats’ which we celebrated in school last year. Emi is raising money for Child Cancer and is co-inciding the re-launch with International Children’s Cancer Awareness Month. Look out for more details in September!

Important Dates

At the bottom of this newsletter is a list of important dates for the next year as we know lots of you like to get them on calendars and in diaries. This is also available as a pdf download on the website. This year has seen a rise in our attendance figures from 96.8% to 97.2% which is excellent. Thank you for your support with this.

We hope that you and the children have enjoyed this year at Hillside and that they are looking forward to an exciting year next year in their new class (and for some, their new school!). All the very best to all our Y6 pupils who start in Y7 in September. We hope that your time with us has prepared you well for high school and we look forward to seeing you next year to hear how you are getting on.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all parents, carers, grandparents and friends for your continued support this year and wish you all the best for a restful, relaxing and exciting summer holiday.
