Parent Governor nominations

We currently have a vacancy for a parent governor.  If you would like more information about being a school governor, please ask Mr Richardson or call into the office.

Reading Book audit (17th October)

We are undertaking a full review of all our reading books so that we can purchase new books and update our stock so that we have the best books we can provide.  To do this we need to collect in all reading books.  Please can you make sure your child’s reading book is sent into school by Friday 17th October.  Thank you for your support.  We will be able to send reading books home again from Tuesday 21st October.

Holiday Activity Club

JM Education are holding a multi sports club during half term at Hillside school.  Letters with all the details were sent home last Friday (10th Oct).  If you did not receive one and would like the details please call at the school office.

Speaking and Listening Competition

After the success of last term’s ‘Poetry Recital Competition’ we have just launched another ‘Speaking and Listening Competition’.  The children are being asked to write 100-150 words with the theme of Helsby Hillside.  Their writing could be a poem, a letter, an advert, a story or any genre they choose.

They must then read out their writing.  Each class will hold their own competition this week with the grand final (one child/group) from each class being held at 10am on Monday 20th October in the school hall.  (Parents are most welcome to join us for this!).  All winners will receive a £10 book voucher with prizes and certificates also being given to the best listeners!

Any queries or questions, please ask Mr Richardson or your child’s classteacher.  Thank you for your support with this.

We are sorry that a large number of pupils have experienced the symptoms of the bug going round.  Hopefully, almost all pupils have now recovered and attendance can get back to normal.

Thank you for your support at this difficult time and for collecting children when they fell ill and for respecting the ’48 hour rule’.  We hope the children are all now feeling better.

Please could parents park considerately when dropping off and picking up at school.  Please do not park on the yellow zig zag lines.

Cycle Training

During half term there is a free cycle training course at Frodsham Fire station.  For full details please visit
