Update from Mr Richardson 25th March 2020

Dear Parent/Carer,

A quick update and a keep in touch message!

We currently have small numbers of pupils in school. Numbers are varying between 3 and 8. Thanks to everyone for following government advice and keeping your children at home where you can.

I am very proud that we are able to provide childcare for our key workers at this incredibly uncertain and difficult time. School staff are doing a sterling job in looking after the children who are in school and I would like to thank them sincerely for their hard work and dedication. For the key workers, and particularly our parents who work for the NHS, thank you so much for all you are doing!

In school, we are maintaining social distancing and following government advice regarding cleaning and staying safe carefully. Staff are trying to make the days as safe as they can and still achieve the Hillside motto of ‘Learn, Laugh and Play’!

For those of you learning at home, we hope that the children are enjoying the activities and links to activities that the teachers have put on the class pages. Class pages will be updated before the Easter holidays. If you have any questions, please ask your class teacher through the email address provided. Please remember that the main thing is to help children consolidate and remember things they have already learned this year. If they can use the activities to practice this and answer questions and solve problems this will be really helpful. Enjoying reading is the most important thing they can do!

If you have any other worries or queries or questions, please email Mrs Ellis on admin@hillside.cheshire.sch.uk or Mr Richardson on head@hillside.cheshire.sch.uk.

If anyone has still not confirmed childcare needs for the Easter holidays, please could you phone school or email admin@hillside.cheshire.sch.uk as soon as possible to let us know if you need any care for the weeks beginning 6 April and 13 April and whether this will include Good Friday and Easter Monday. When we know numbers we will be able to confirm holiday care and how this will work.

Thanks again for your help and understanding. Hopefully, we can all look forward to school starting again sometime in the future and to our school community getting back to some kind of normality. In the meantime, keep yourselves and your loved ones safe.

Yours sincerely

Craig Richardson
